VirtualCerts / A VirtualWorks service

Certificates with
continuity built in.

Your websites need more than a certificate on day one. Bring setup, renewal, installation and live verification into one clear, managed workflow.

Pilot service. Deployment scope is confirmed before onboarding.

The full certificate journey

A certificate is only useful
when it reaches your visitors.

Keep the certificate, its installation and the public website in view together. The service is designed to make the next action clear, from first setup through renewal.

01 / CONTINUITY

Renewal, on a schedule.

Automated renewal checks handle eligible managed certificates. Failed checks and delivery problems stay visible so they can be investigated instead of quietly forgotten.

02 / DELIVERY

Install with a plan.

Supported managed Nginx deployments use verified certificate bundles, controlled reloads and rollback paths. Other hosting environments are assessed before installation is promised.

03 / VISIBILITY

Verify the live result.

Check the certificate served by the actual website, including its hostname and validity. A successful issuance and a successful delivery are tracked as distinct steps.

Straightforward onboarding

Your DNS provider stays.
The repeat work moves to us.

A one-time DNS entry delegates certificate validation for the selected hostname. You retain control of your domain and the rest of your DNS.

  1. Agree on the websites and hosting.

We identify the domains, current certificate owner and installation method. Existing provider-managed certificates can remain with their provider.

  2. Add the supplied DNS entry.

The portal gives you the exact CNAME name and value for each supported hostname. Save it with your DNS provider, then use the setup check to verify it.

  3. Test before the live certificate.

Verify test issuance first. Once the checks pass and installation is configured, issue the live certificate and confirm it reaches the website.

  4. Keep renewal and delivery connected.

Eligible managed certificates move into the recurring renewal workflow. Ongoing checks distinguish a valid certificate from a certificate that is actually being served.

Start with the right fit.

  • Public websites on a supported managed deployment.
  • Multiple domains with clear customer ownership.
  • Renewal and live certificate checks in one portal.

Confirm these during planning.

  • Third-party hosting, appliances and application support.
  • Wildcard, private CA and enterprise certificate needs.
  • Support coverage, responsibilities and service pricing.

A few practical questions

Clear setup.
Clear ownership.

Do I need to move my domain or change nameservers?

No domain transfer is required for the delegated validation workflow. You add the supplied CNAME for the selected hostname at your current DNS provider. We confirm any hosting or DNS changes needed for your specific installation before proceeding.

My website plan already includes SSL. Do I need this too?

Possibly not. VirtualWorks website plans already include SSL, and some hosting providers manage certificates themselves. VirtualCerts is useful when you need a broader certificate inventory, a supported managed installation, or a service across several websites. We identify overlap before onboarding.

Can you install certificates on any server?

Installation support depends on the destination. The current pilot supports the configured managed Nginx environment. Other web servers, cloud services and devices require an agreed integration or delivery method. We do not advertise universal installation.

Who can use the secure portal?

Portal access is provisioned for approved accounts. The current pilot uses Google Workspace sign-in and an authenticator. Contact VirtualWorks to discuss onboarding. The public information page does not create an account.

What happens when I end the service?

We agree on a transition before ending managed renewal. Your existing domain stays yours. Delegated validation credentials can be retired, and you can remove the service CNAME when the replacement certificate arrangement is ready.
